Cherokee

Another shot from my day at Clearview Farm. This is Cherokee, a five year old pinto mare. She had the perfect contrast between her fluffy black winter coat and her beautifully wavy white mane. She was a little cautious of new people and the equipment I had set up, but her handler managed her expertly which enabled me to capture this image. Animals aren’t the easiest of subjects to photograph, and horses in particular can be extremely challenging in part due to their size. Suddenly the shoot isn’t just about getting the perfect shot, but keeping everyone and all the equipment safe while doing so!
