Part of my Assateague series, this mare separated from the herd to walk up the beach to stand ontop of the sand dunes. She was on her own for quite some time, looking inland from the beach initially then turning to watch the rest of the herd as they finished cooling off in the water and on the sand before slowly joining her to head into the more sheltered areas of the island overnight. There was a foal amongst her herd and a different herd a short way down the beach from them. Perhaps she was finding the best vantage point from which to watch over her herd in all directions. All Assateague prints are part of a limited edition series and will be signed and numbered.
