I was lucky enough to capture this lone mare out in front as she lead the herd in its early morning gallop. When I was photographing the herd, they were usually all together in a maelstrom of hooves and splashing. To have one horse clear from the others and out in front really brings out the speed and movement. Her tail is flying, water is spraying up, over and out behind and her ears are pricked forward as she gallops into the calm waters of the marsh in front of her.
